Tulasi se ne smije nuditi lotosovim stopalima gurua jer se tulasi listovi nude samo "Visnu tattva" Božanstvima. Međutim, mogu biti ponuđeni "na ruku" guruu s razumijevanjem da će ih on zatim ponuditi lotosovim stopalima Gospodina.

Ili, ukoliko osoba nudi guruu bhogu, može uključiti i tulasi listove ali obavezno "s razumijevanjem" da mu samo pomaže pripremiti njegovu ponudu za Gospodina.

Ali mi nikada ne nudimo tulasi listove lotosovim stopalima našeg gurua, to svakako nije odobreno! ...

... "Regarding offering tulasi to one"s guru, you are correct in doubting that this is correct. Tulasi should not be offered to the lotus feet of the guru, as tulasi leaves are only offered to "Visnu-tattva" deities. However they could be offered to the *hand* of the guru with the understanding that he will then offer them to the lotus feet of the Lord.
